Goin' Back to Cali

It's a four day weekend and this trio decided to make a spontaneous trip to California!
The lovely Frame family hosted us for the weekend in their gorgeous home in Vista.
We did a little exploring upon our arrival and found the following...
The Back Yard...
and the view from the pool. Incredible! Let the weekend begin!

Bittersweet Tradition

Emily and Briana are two of my all time favorite people in this world. We've all just been reunited here in Provo, only to say goodbye again. Miss Briana has decided to travel through Europe on Study Abroad this semester. Such a punk! Thankfully we got the chance to carry out our Hike the Y tradition with a feast at Zupas afterwards. These ladies are the best!

An Open Closet Policy

Ok I admit, this is a Selfie post. However, it's for a good reason. My roommates and I have an Open Closet Policy hence my fashionable get up for the day.
Provo has it's perks!

A Dangerous Date Night

I've been dying to go to the Shooting Range, so Jake surprised me on took us on a date there! We  didn't know what the heck we were doing at first, but I eventually learned not to wave around the loaded gun. ;)
After the shooting range, Jake wanted to go to his favorite restaurant in Springville, La Casita!
Super
Super
Yum!

Pastries & Massages

Jake surprised me with an appointment at the Massage Cabin!
Cutest little Cabin Award!
After we decided to try Enlighten, the newest cafe and bakery downtown.
 Tomato Basil Soup
Turkey Artichoke Panini
Chicken Caesar Salad
Reuben on Rye with Sauerkraut
We split a scrumptious piece of carrot cake!
Blueberry, Kiwi and Strawberry Tart
We also split a Cinnamon Roll. Yes we like to eat and will claim the status of fatties, but at least we're fatties with good taste.

Party at the Post Office

I had some down time at work...and I kind of miss my sisters...
So I decided to make them messages out of word clippings from magazines and turn it into a puzzle for them to put together...ok it was kind of a lot of downtime. ;)

Slapped a rhyme on the back and popped in the mailbox. Some sisters of mine have some mail coming their way!

Same Name Same Street

Sammy's may appear to be our planned date destination however it was not. Jake and I heard about a truly authentic Vietnamese restaurant called Rice King Noodle from our Dining Connoisseur Steven. He really likes food too and know all the latest and greatest here in Utah. We attempted to have some true Vietnamese, completely blind to the fact that there are THREE Rice King Noodle's in downtown Provo. Somebody got lazy when it came to naming. The Rice King we chose really wasn't that good, so of course we decided to redeem the date, saw Sammy's Home of the Famous Pie Shakes and decided to hit it up! Jake got a Oreo Cream Pie Shake and I got a Raspberry Cheesecake. Super yum! Note to self, when choosing a restaurant make sure there is not multiple restaurants with the same name on the same street.

Mount Timpanogos Temple

Today the Goon Squad and I did some much needed catching up. The only one missing was Heather. :( In order to avoid the long waits at the Provo Temple we went to the Mount Timpanogos Temple. I love my goons!

Trafalga

Nicole convinced us all to go to Trafalga. Here's a little word from the wise. When you are from Florida, setting high hopes for any amusement park here in Utah is a very, very bad idea. The rinky dink Go Cart course was one small loop that could be walked in a total of 20 seconds. Even the four year olds were disappointed.  Trafalga itself was kind of a dud, but we still had fun! We played arcade games and got our butts whooped by a bunch of six year olds in Laser Tag. Obviously we were not part of the usual crew. Nicole even terrified one of the youngsters to hysteria. He started crying and begged her to "stop following him". Of course she wasn't doing it on purpose. Needless to say we did come in last place. We won't be playing Laser Tag with them ever again.

Station 22

Jake has been dying to try this joint since the first time he saw it. So we did!!
Luckily we picked a busy day and ended up getting free drinks. Yahoo! The Pink Grapefruit was downable but the Ginger Beer was AMAZING! I know I'm going to crave it. Plus I'm a sucker for glass bottles.
This Corn dog was GINORMOUS! And surprisingly pretty tasty as well, and the sauce...YEAH BABY!
This, ladies and gents is the Abe Lincoln. Half beef, half buffalo. I guess you could call it a beefalo? Maybe the owners are trying to spread Civil Rights awareness, or maybe Abe is their favorite president. Either way the sandwich was scrumdiddlyumptious.
Of course you can't go to an American Cuisine joint without having Tatertots! Between these and "The Abe" Jake was nearly jumping out of his seat with joy. He really likes food.
Station 22 was a success! They have a fun little sitting area of sorts where you can hang out. They have supplied board games and all. The place is totally hip!
