Diggin' Deep Into Our Amurican Roots

If Provo were a good ole Southern home cooked meal, Station 22 would be Momma's fresh out da oven Cornbread. Their menu really ain't all that fancy, it's just the regulars. You can go get you some sweet potaters, Hushpuppies, Jack Kerouacs and even Design your own Root Boor Float.
Jake found this little gem and he is mighty proud a' that. Anytime we get an itchin' to dig deep into our Amurican Roots, this is where we'll be. From the burlap covered utensils to the mason jars we drankin' from. Best. Place. Ever.

I kind of have an insanely HUGE crush on this Food Truck.
They serve the most scrumptiously delicious melt in your mouth waffles you will ever eat.
My life has changed for the better, because of you Waffleluv!
You da bomb!
If Waffleluv comes your way, take action immediately! Who needs a vacation when you can experience a mouth watering party in paradise from one stinkin' waffle? BAM!

An Open Closet Policy

Ok I admit, this is a Selfie post. However, it's for a good reason. My roommates and I have an Open Closet Policy hence my fashionable get up for the day.
Provo has it's perks!

Pastries & Massages

Jake surprised me with an appointment at the Massage Cabin!
Cutest little Cabin Award!
After we decided to try Enlighten, the newest cafe and bakery downtown.
 Tomato Basil Soup
Turkey Artichoke Panini
Chicken Caesar Salad
Reuben on Rye with Sauerkraut
We split a scrumptious piece of carrot cake!
Blueberry, Kiwi and Strawberry Tart
We also split a Cinnamon Roll. Yes we like to eat and will claim the status of fatties, but at least we're fatties with good taste.

Same Name Same Street

Sammy's may appear to be our planned date destination however it was not. Jake and I heard about a truly authentic Vietnamese restaurant called Rice King Noodle from our Dining Connoisseur Steven. He really likes food too and know all the latest and greatest here in Utah. We attempted to have some true Vietnamese, completely blind to the fact that there are THREE Rice King Noodle's in downtown Provo. Somebody got lazy when it came to naming. The Rice King we chose really wasn't that good, so of course we decided to redeem the date, saw Sammy's Home of the Famous Pie Shakes and decided to hit it up! Jake got a Oreo Cream Pie Shake and I got a Raspberry Cheesecake. Super yum! Note to self, when choosing a restaurant make sure there is not multiple restaurants with the same name on the same street.

Station 22

Jake has been dying to try this joint since the first time he saw it. So we did!!
Luckily we picked a busy day and ended up getting free drinks. Yahoo! The Pink Grapefruit was downable but the Ginger Beer was AMAZING! I know I'm going to crave it. Plus I'm a sucker for glass bottles.
This Corn dog was GINORMOUS! And surprisingly pretty tasty as well, and the sauce...YEAH BABY!
This, ladies and gents is the Abe Lincoln. Half beef, half buffalo. I guess you could call it a beefalo? Maybe the owners are trying to spread Civil Rights awareness, or maybe Abe is their favorite president. Either way the sandwich was scrumdiddlyumptious.
Of course you can't go to an American Cuisine joint without having Tatertots! Between these and "The Abe" Jake was nearly jumping out of his seat with joy. He really likes food.
Station 22 was a success! They have a fun little sitting area of sorts where you can hang out. They have supplied board games and all. The place is totally hip!

Banana Leaf

Today we tried Banana Leaf! Food from Srilanka and Singapore!
It was beyond delicious!
Our Aloe Very Raspberry Lemonade and Mango Lasi drinks! The Mango Lasi had the perfect amount of chocolate in it, and both were a surprisingly soothing accent to our spicy food.
Appetizers :)
Jake got Chicken Marsala or something like that....
I got the Chicken Kothu! Perfect balance between spicy and sweet. Banana Leaf is our 40th restaurant! To say we like to eat is an understatement. ;)

DIY Jewelry Board

Since my new apartment is a dump, I've started the beautification process. I combined 12 cork board squares measures 12x12 each and less than $10 for a 4 pack. Perfect for creating a custom bulletin board for anything you like. I of course chose to hang my jewelry since I'm not lacking in that department, aaannd because I have too much to store anywhere else. Follow the link to purchase your own cork board and create something today!

Finds at the Farmers Market

Nothing is better than perusing through the Farmers Market on a Saturday morning. Besides finding some great steals and trying some out of this world food, we also left one lucky boy with some phone digits. ;) Here's a few of our fabulous finds...
 Fresh Peaches
 Leather Arm Candy
 Freshly Baked Mini Pies
Super funky art made out of doo-dads and what-ya-ma-call-its
 More funky stuff
 And even more funky stuff
Honey Sticks 25 cents each :D
 Handmade Perfume Bottles
Homemade Colognes and Perfumes
Wrap around Indian Skirts that I LOVE!
 Fresh Bread
 Kianna with the digits ;)
More artsy stuff
Uke inspiration, I want a pink one sooo bad!
Jewelry made out of recycled items, the mannequin is sportin a necklace made out of old camera bulbs while other rings and bracelets are made out of stamps and other clever creations. So creative!
This guy was one of my faves. He has his own business called Rooney Lettering, where he creates custom wedding invitations, cards, etc. Such a fun concept!
More fun Rooney Lettering
Rooney made me custom bookmarks, and it only cost me a dollar. I love the Farmers Market <3
To finish off the day I had to purchase some fresh Limeade. The Farmers Market hasn't seen the last of me yet!

Black Sheep Cafe

Jana and I decided to catch up over a dinner date at a Navajo Restaurant downtown that Jana has been dying to try. It was delicious. Yummy food and chats with one of your favorite girlfriends is always a great start to the weekend!
