Hoob. A. Stanky.

How I always end up at the most random concerts, is beyond me...take for example, my very first concert at the Amway Arena...Phil Collins. Don't get me wrong, Phil Collins is quite the gem. I loved singing along to "You'll Be In My Heart" reminiscing about the good ole day spent watching Tarzan while I swayed back and forth with the middle aged. It was the best of times....it was the worst of times. I am also yet to attend another concert with quite so many wheelchairs.
Ok I lied. I do know how I end up at the Hoobastank concert, Phil is still a mystery, but as far as Hoobastanky is concerned, our friends The Lovecapades were opening for them.
So of course we made the trek out to Salt Lake to come and support. The funny part was Mickey, the blondie featured in the second from the bottom left photo, is a HUGE Hoobastank fan!
He knew ALL of the words, and eventually ditched us to move to the front row where the lead singer gave him a shout out for knowing all the words and singing along to their newest songs.
And the #1 Fan Award goes too.....MICKEY SCHAERTL!!!
Here comes the even funnier part. The rest of us, not being as diehard as Mickey, left the concert a little early to go grab some Applebee's at The Gateway. We forgot to tell Mickey we were doing this, since the lead singer was giving him his own personal concert in the front row (He probably wouldn't have really heard us anyways, Hoobastanky is too mesmerizing). As we get our desserts we realize that Mickey's not with us, and his phone died earlier at the concert. Glenny Boo and Nico ran the go find him and eventually spotted him sitting alone on a car outside the concert.
And the worst friends ever award goes to...TABLE OF SIX!!
Mickey hasn't hung out with us since that night............Just kidding. He forgave us, probably because he was still on a Hoobastank high. Jammin' out to "The Reason" really takes it outta ya.

Road Trippin

Below is Caleb Blood, our closing performer for the first event I have worked for STAB. Steven and I were running around like chickens with our heads chopped off all day, but in the end it was a major success!!
After the event there was still no stopping for me. I packed my bags, and Jake and I set off to start our Road Trip to Reno with Elysse and Ryan.
The entire drive looked pretty similar to this...
After our long drive we ended our night at the Bowling Alley.
Ryan got a little too into his routine and split his pants. I also love Laurens feet in the shoes pic. Notice how my feet and Jake's feet are close together while Lauren's prego belly keeps her from closing hers all the way. :)
Elysse and I decided we would sport the prego bellies too. Lauren still looked the best of course ;) Reuniting with these pretty ladies always means a good time!

Stadium of Fire

Happy 4th!! Jake got us tickets to Stadium of Fire! Scotty McCreery opened for the Beach Boys, Stadium of Fire Dancers Performed, the Girls Scouts led us in the National Anthem,Hill Air Force Base did a Flyover and we got to watch some CRAAZYY Fireworks!! They added music while the fireworks went off as well as some other special effects. I have never experienced anything else like it, and that's saying something since I'm from Florida where there's fireworks going off practically every night between  Universal Studios and Disneyworld.
Our lovely program
Scotty McCreery
Stadium of Fire Dancers
Flyover
Beach Boys :D
All in all I had a great night at a great show, but most importantly I am incredibly grateful to be a citizen of the United States of America. I know it's cheesy but I always tear up when we sing the National Anthem. We live in a truly blessed country, and I love the one day out of the year designated for celebrating this fact. Many people have sacrificed more than we can imagine to make this possible. I only hope that we can allow their legacy to live on by the actions we make for the betterment of the country that we call home.
GOD BLESS 'MERICA!!!!!!
